boron nitride powder is an excellent material for use as mould release, lubrication and as a filler to increase thermal conductivity. It is a white, non-abrasive, powder with a hexagonal platey crystal structure which makes it very similar to graphite but much superior in a number of important areas. It has high tensile strength, low coefficient of friction and good lubricating properties, it is chemically inert and can operate at very high temperatures (>800 C) without degradation.
SV-BNP can be mixed with water, oil and all types of solvents to form a slurry which can then be applied using a paint brush, roller or spray. It is important that the slurry is well mixed so as to achieve an even coverage across the substrate. hBN can also be mixed with a variety of additives to alter the chemistry of the material or to enhance the properties.
SV-BNP is supplied in a sealed container and is safe for handling when stored properly. It should be kept away from heat/sparks/open flames and kept in a cool place. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes, if any contact is made flush the area with water for several minutes. SV-BNP is supplied in the following grades: Mil Spec (military grade), ACS, Reagent and Technical Grade, Food, Agriculture and Pharmaceutical Grade and USP/BP (European Pharmacopoeia/British Pharmacopoeia). It is available in a wide range of particle sizes from 50 down to fewer than 5 microns.
