Study on nano aluminum nitride in thermal conductive plastics

What is aluminum Nitride? Aluminum nitride AIN crystal exhibits a wurtzite structure and is a hexagonal system that contains a tetrahedral-covalent bond compound. Chemical composition AI 65.81% and N 34.19%. Specific gravity 3.261g/cm3, single crystal colorless transparent. Sublimation temperature is 2450 at atmospheric pressure. It is a heat and high temperature resistant material. Aluminum nitride can resist molten aluminium, other molten metallics, and gallium arsenide.
    Performance index for aluminum nitride
    (1) The thermal conductivity is high (about 320W/m*K), which is close to SiC. It is more than 5x higher than Al2O3
    (2) Matching the thermal expansion coefficient (4.5x10-6), Si (3.54x10-6), and GaAs (6x10-6).
    (3) various electrical properties (dielectric constant, dielectric loss, body resistivity, dielectric strength) excellent;
    (4) The mechanical properties of BeO and Al2O3 ceramics are superior to their flexural strength. They can also be atmospheric sintered.
    (5) Good optical transmission properties;
    (6) non-toxic.

Use nano aluminum nitride for thermal conductive materials
1, Thermal conductive Silica Gel and Thermal conductive Ethyl Resin
Nano AlN composite silica Gel with high thermal conductivity is extremely efficient. It has excellent thermal conductivity, good insulation, low consistency, and good construction performance. These products can replace or exceed imported products and are used extensively in electronic devices heat transfer medium to improve work efficiency. For example, filling the gap between CPU and radiator, high power transistor, Silicon controlled components, diodes, as well as the substrate in direct contact with the thin seam heat exchange medium. Nano thermal paste is used to close the gap between IC/audion and heatsink, increase their contact area, and achieve better heat dissipation.

    2, thermal conductive plastics application:
Powders of nano aluminum nitride can significantly improve the thermal conductivity. By adding the experimental product to plastic in a 5-10% ratio, the plastic's thermal conductivity can be increased from 0.33 to 5. The plastic's thermal conductivity rose more than 16x. The thermal conductivity additive on the market today has more advantages than this one. It can be used to improve the mechanical properties and the thermal conductivity effect, as well as reduce the amount of thermal conductivity filler. Current nano aluminum Nitride powders have been purchased by relevant manufacturers on a large scale. Then, new nano thermally conductive plastics will go on the market.

    3. Other areas of application:
Nano aluminum is used for smelting nonferrous metals, semiconductor gallium arsenide, crucible, evaporationboat, thermocouple protectiontube, heat insulation and microwave dielectric materials. The current application and PI resin are also available.

    Boron Nitride Properties

Boron nutride is composed of both nitrogen and boron. You can divide the crystal structure into hexagonal bore nitride, WBN and cubic bore nitride.
The hexagonal boron-nitride crystal has the same graphite layered structures as graphite. This gives it its name "white graphite" because of its loose, lubricating and moisture-absorbing properties. Specific gravity 2.43. Mohr hardness 2.27g/cm3. Theoretical density 2.27g/cm3.
Hexagonalboron nitride is good at electrical insulation, thermal conductivity and chemical stability. Although hexagonal boron-nitride has the same expansion coefficient as quartz, its thermal conductivity exceeds that of quartz by tenfold.
Hexagonalboron nitride is not able to dissolve cold water. The water boils slowly, producing a very small amount of ammonia and boric acids. It is not soluble in hot acids and cannot be broken down with potassium hydroxide or molten sodiumhydroxide.

    Boron Nitride Properties

    2. High thermal conductivity. The hot-pressed products behave the same way as pure iron. And 33W/M.K's thermal conductivity is higher than that of ceramic materials at 530C.
3, Low thermal expansion coefficient. The thermal shock resistance of ceramics is excellent due to its low expansion coefficient (2 x 10-6).
    4. It has excellent electrical characteristics: it is good at insulation at high temperatures (1014 O-cm.2000 at 25 and 1033 O-cm. It's the most efficient ceramic high-temperature insulating material, with a breakdown voltage 3.0V/MV, low loss of 108HZ 2.5x10-4, and dielectric constant 4. This product is transparent to microwaves as well as infrared.
    5. Excellent corrosion resistance: It does not react to iron, copper or aluminum. It is compatible with rare earth metals and precious metals as well as semiconductor materials (germanium-siliconium, potassium arsenide), glass and molten salts (crystals, fluoride, or slag), inorganic acids, and alkali.
    6. Low friction coefficient U of 0.16. This is more than Molybdenum Disulfide or graphite. The oxidation atmosphere can withstand temperatures up to 900C and vacuum at 2000.
    7. The purity of high purity B is very high. It has less than 10ppm impurity, and a higher B content than 43.6%.

Spherical Alumina Powder And The Applications of Spherical Alumina

One of the thermal conductive material is aluminum. Spherical aluminum oxide A "star" material. The use of spherical-shaped alumina in thermal management fields, such as 5G, is a good idea. This market is expanding rapidly. Spherical Alumina is widely used not only as a thermal conductive substance but also in advanced ceramics, catalysis and grinding, polishing and composite materials.

    Spherical Al2O3 Property

Because of their many crystal shapes and unique chemical and physical properties, Alumina and its Hydrate are used widely in electronics, petrochemical, refractories as well as papermaking and pharmaceuticals. Alumina's application capabilities in many areas are directly related to their morphology. The Al2O3 powders of different sizes have various morphologies. However, the Al2O3 spheres are more uniform in morphology.

    Spherical Application

Used as Spherical Allumina Powder Thermal Conductive Materials The most significant use of spherical aluminum is thermal conductive material. Spherical alumina can be classified as thermal interface material, thermal-conductive engineering plastics and thermally conductive plastic sealing substances. The thermal interface materials can be used to IC packaging or electronic heat loss. These materials fill in any gaps caused by contact between the materials. This reduces the heat transfer resistance and improves heat dissipation. Inorganic thermal filler sphere alumina is common. Its thermal conductivity can reach 3042W/m K.

    Ceramics using Spherical Allumina Powder
The properties of ceramics can be greatly affected by adding a small amount of spherical aluminum powder to their production. Low temperature brittleness in ceramics has a significant impact on their ability to be used for various purposes. For low-temperature plastic ceramics, you can use ceramic materials with spherical aluminum powder. Additionally, ceramics can be made tougher by using spherical-alumina. It can increase the ceramics' strength and decrease the melting temperature by reducing the amount of spherical allumina powder to 5.0%.

As a polishing agent, use Spherical Allumina Powder
Spherical or flake-alumina alumina offers better fluidity and dispersion than conventional granular or flake. Because spheres of alumina powder are evenly distributed within polished products, there is no possibility for powder to accumulate in large quantities. The particle surface can also be smooth, which helps avoid scratches and improves polishing.

Spherical Led luminaire Use Both its catalyst and its transporter
High chemical activity is possible because of the large amount of unsaturated chemical bonding and catalytic activ centers that are found on the surface. Spherical Alumina offers the benefits of high chemical activity, low wear, and long service lives. It also boasts a large specific area. It is impossible to replace the performance and characteristics of the catalyst made of spherical aluminum with other materials.

Spherical Alumina Use in 3D printing
Due to its strong strength, high spheroidization rate and resistance to high temperatures, 3D printing is a popular use of sphered-alumina. The advantages of spherical allumina powder include high solid content and good fluidity. They also have high mechanical and chemical properties.

    Advantages of Aluminum Nitride Powder

Aluminum nitride It is an aluminium solid nitride that has excellent thermal and electric conductivity. It has an excellent band gap at room temperature with six electrons. This makes it a promising phase for optoelectronics. Below are some examples of its properties and their applications.

    Very high thermal conductivity

Aluminum nitride is one of the newest materials in technical ceramics. It was originally discovered nearly a century back, but it is only now that it can be made into a viable commercial material. It can be used to make composite materials, and it is especially good at improving mechanical properties.
A material's thermal conductivity refers to its ability to heat transfer when exposed to temperature variations. Reticulular vibrations are also called phonons and aluminum nitride is capable of carrying heat. This property is common in materials with covalent bonds and low atomic mass. There are many factors that affect thermal conductivity. These include temperature, impurities and even the presence of heat.

Aluminium nitride exhibits high thermal and electric conductivity making it an attractive material for electronics. Thermal conductivity for polycrystalline AlN ceramics is between 17 and 285 W/mK. It is the process of sintering that determines the difference between single-crystalline and multi-crystalline ceramics. This is what determines the microstructure of the material and its conduction mechanism.

AlN can also be machined to create complex shapes. AlN's high thermal conductivity is not only impressive, but it also has exceptional heat radiation and electric insulation. AlN can be machined to complex shapes, making it suitable for high-power electronic applications.

Microelectronics uses aluminum nitride as a standard material. The material's excellent thermal conductivity makes them a perfect medium to heat sinks or electrical insulators. The material can be used in silicon-based products because it does not react with many chemicals or gases.

Aluminum nitride (or aluminum nitride) is an innovative ceramic that has excellent electrical and thermal properties. The cost of aluminum Nitride is quite high so domestic production remains a problem. However, scientists are trying to resolve this problem. These developments could lead to aluminum nitride being a viable option for high-end semiconductor packaging.

It is the heat transfer rate between two materials. Thermal conductivity is the rate at which heat transfers between two materials. A single crystal has higher thermal resistance than one with lower thermal conductivity. This is an important property in a semiconductor. It should be taken into consideration when designing a material for a particular application.

    Electric insulator strong

Aluminum nitride exhibits excellent thermal conductivity as well as electrical insulation, which makes it ideal for high-powered electronic applications. This metal is a good choice for power electronics because of its similar mechanical and electrical characteristics to silicon. You can use it for microwave tubes or hybrid circuits. It is capable of being fabricated in complex geometries with no loss of electrical insulating property.

Aluminum Nitride is a good material for high-frequency electronics as well as high-voltage devices. The semiconductor industry uses aluminum nitride as a substitute for Beryllium Oxide due to its low thermal expansion. Additionally, the material is safe to machine and it matches silicon wafers in CTE. It's a good choice for high-temperature electronics.

AlN offers excellent electrical insulation with a low constant dielectric, which makes it ideal for various electronic applications. Additionally, AlN's surface can be metallized in order to create thin films. These are great for electronics circuits, wiring bonding, and more.

Aluminum nitride has another property: it's stable at very high temperatures. However, at 700°C it will oxidize and form a layer with aluminium oxide. Although it is very stable in the carbon dioxide and hydrogen atmospheres, it does not dissolve quickly in water. Aluminum nitride's low electrical conductivity makes it a popular choice for electronics.

    F. Briegleb & A. Geuther first synthesized aluminum nitride 1862. Aluminium nitride is superconductive under high pressures despite having a low density. This material also exhibits excellent thermal conductivity. These properties make it a popular choice for semiconductor devices.

    Resistance to molten metallics

An aluminum nitride ceramic compound is resistant to thermal shock and abrasion. You can use it in many applications to prevent metals from corrosion and abrasion. It has particles sizes between 0.2 micrometers and 5 micrometers. The general rule of thumb is that a higher content of aluminum nitride will give you better resistance to abrasion.

Aluminum nitride belongs to the hexagonal structure and is a covalent bonds compound. It can be gray or off white in color, and it is great for insulation materials. Aluminum liquid cannot penetrate it because of its high thermal conductivity. Aluminium nitride, however, has a low thermal conductivity as well as oxidation resistance. Additionally, it is susceptible to absorb water from the air and undergo hydrolysis. Additionally, the temperature at which it can decompose is 2516° Celsius. However, aluminum nitride can be used as a metal of high quality that is resistant to corrosion and heat.

Aluminum nitride can be used to make stronger structural materials than alumina. Additionally, it has high hardness as well as abrasion resistance. But, it has lower mechanical strength than alumina and higher thermal shock resistance. It is not recommended for use in composites because of this.

The material also has good melting resistance and adhesion. Aluminium nitride makes a good choice when it comes to molten-metal applications. This metal can be used to make molten members. To avoid cracking, however, the member must exhibit good adhesion.

Protective coatings for foundries can be made from aluminum nitride. It's inexpensive and straightforward to make. It also resists corrosion. But, it may not completely resist molten aluminium. Additives may affect its ability to resist molten metals.

Aluminium nitride, in addition to being resistant to molten metallics has good adhesion properties and melt loss resistance. Aluminium nitride offers better adhesion and resistance to heat shock than aluminum oxide. Aluminum oxide has a tendency to fracture and crack. Additionally, the aluminum oxide has a weight of 90 wt. % of Boron

The product sintered was evaluated for resistance to thermal shock, melting loss, adhesion and molten steel. For ten minutes the test item was submerged in molten iron before being removed. A 4-point bending test was used to measure the adhesion.
